Guitar No. 68

This is a special flamed-ambrosia project that was completed during the Covid pandemic and has remained available. The ambrosia maple came from a local lumber company. I found and purchased this large board for my father as a birthday gift because he holds a particular love for ambrosia maple. Unfortunately, in my father's dry, course style, the gift was refused because I had not purchased enough of it to use on his usual projects requiring more board feet. So...I kept the tear of rejection on the inside and set my mind on building a guitar with it so it wouldn't go to waste.
The first time I had a chance to share the instrument I took it with me to Lexington, KY when I dropped off the 8 string "Octavia" I made for Dieter Henning's studio. It was the first time I shared the guitar and was able to listen to it out front.
It's a very balanced and powerful instrument with a very pleasing timbre. It shoots out a very well sustained and focused tone with lots of fundamental without sacrificing the higher partials of each note. If you are on the hunt for a unique, powerful and pleasant sound, then I think you should give this guitar a try.
