Classical Guitarist Parker Scinta
I am looking forward to hosting classical guitarist Parker Scinta at our Solo Guitar Night this Monday, February 18, 6:30pm at Perk Up.
Parker Scinta has performed in venues across the country for the past four years as a competitive classical guitarist. Mr. Scinta has studied various instruments including saxophone, piano and guitar since the age of 9. In 2006, Mr. Scinta began his collegiate musical studies at Western Kentucky University and later received the first scholarship given to a classical guitarist at the school.
In 2008, Mr. Scinta began his guitar studies at the University of Louisville with Dr. Stephen Mattingly. Mr. Scinta has arranged numerous works for guitar in addition to his original compositions. His composition for two guitars premiered during the New Music Festival at the University of Louisville in 2012.
Mr. Scinta has participated in master classes with many world famous classical guitarists including Christopher Parkening, Marcin Dylla, Denis Azabagic , Oscar Ghiglia, Jason Vieaux and many more. He is currently working as a graduate assistant in music theory finishing his Masters in Music Performance at the University of Louisville and will finish his Masters in Music Theory next spring.
