Flora is a special project spanning the entirety of 2023. Displayed at the GFA that summer, she still awaited the completion of her tuning machines by Jorg Graf that fall.

Headstock veneer trim
Trademark chaos surrounded by order. Infinite complexity bordered by my handmade mosaic marquetry.
Fingerboard trimmed with rosewood binding and a red purfling line.
Truss rod access at the headstock is covered by a snakewood plate. Adjustability of neck relief ensures an heirloom instruments setup stays playable with minimally invasive adjustments. I like truss rod covers at the headstock because they leave a bit of room for further customization. You could have more than one cover. Maybe do an inaly? Maybe mother of pearl? Fossil ivory?
The bridge is wenge. Although not pictured here, the back of the tie block is protected by a bone plate to prevent wear in the string holes.
Jorg Graf spent much of his time working on these special tuning machines for this guitar. The illustration is colored with a durable nano-ceramic enamel and the gears are embedded, and wedded, within Flora's headstock. The superb function and beauty of these machines are unsurpassed. Why place so much love and work into a guitar and give the tuning machines the same consideration. Special thanks to Jorg for all his work and making these guitar projects so special.
There are two five by five patterns that complete the mosaic trim around the rosette, top and back.
