Headstock Plate Joined
One more small step completed today. This is a four piece headstock plate made from the same board as the back and sides. Two African Blackwood strips create a border between the spalted figure (bookmatched and centered) and the quilted figure - all of which where members of the same board.

I think that I have found a set of tuning machines that are very appropriate for this guitar. These tuners by Graf are very close to the design that I planned to have custom made.

Maple Fretboard Binding
The guitar wouldn't be complete without a maple accent around the fretboard. While fretboard binding is common on steel string guitars it's rare to find it on the modern classical guitar. But hey. This is perpetually unfinished guitar no. 30. Scheduled for completion this September actually.
